Artificial intelligence refers to the Imitation of human`s intelligence in machines that are designed in such a way that those machines will be able to think like humans and mimic their actions. Basically, AI is a technique of getting machines to behave and work like humans.
Generally, we are trying to build decision making capabilities in machines as in humans.
AI is a fundamental risk to the existence Of human civilization .

CURRENT APPLICATIONS OF AI:
Email filtering: Email services uses AI to filter incoming emails, users can train their spam filter by marking emails as “spam”.
Personalization: Online services use AI to personalize your experience. Applications like Amazon, Netflix “learn” from your previous purchases or go through your search engine and recommend you the content you are searching for in you recommendations.
3. Speech recognition: Online applications use AI to optimize speech recognition functions.
Example: Intelligent personal assistants like Amazon`s Alexa and Apple`s Siri.
TYPES OF ARTICIAL INTELLIGENCE:
Artificial intelligence is mainly divided into 2 types: Type-1 and Type-2. Based on their capabilities and functionalities, these Type-1 and Type-2 are further classified into 3 and 4 types respectively. The further classification of AI is given below

Type-1:
· Narrow AI
· General AI
· Strong AI
Type-2:
· Reactive machines
· Limited memory
· Theory of mind
· Self-awareness
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE:
TYPE-1 (BASED ON CAPABILITIES):
1. Narrow AI:
Ø Narrow AI is a type of AI which can perform certain tasks or a dedicated task up to its limitations.
Ø It is the most common and currently available type of AI in the world.
Ø Narrow AI cannot perform any task beyond its field or limitations as it is trained for specific tasks only.
Ø Apple`s siri is one of the most commonly available example of Narrow AI, Since it is available with certain limited pre-defined functions.
2. General AI:
Ø General AI is a type of artificial intelligence, which could perform a task with efficiency and consistency like a human.
Ø The goal of general AI is to build a system which will be more smarter and will also have equal understand-ability and decision making capability like the humans.
Ø Currently there are no such systems in competence to humans, but researchers are focused in developing such systems which will take a lot of time and efforts as well.
3. Strong AI:
Ø Super AI is a level of intelligence, where machines could exceed human intelligence.
Ø These machines will be able to perform any certain given task with similar properties but better than humans.
Ø Super AI is basically the outcome of general AI.
Ø These machines would have special characteristics like: the ability to think, to reason, to solve a puzzle, make judgments, plan, learn and also can communicate on its own.
Ø Super AI is still a speculative concept, because developing such systems will result in the complete change in world`s behavior towards any task.

TYPE-2(BASED ON FUNCTIONALITY):
Reactive machines:
Ø In this type of artificial intelligence, machines will be able to operate merely based on given data.
Ø These reactive machines will not be able to find conclusions to evaluate their future actions, since they are allotted with current data.
Ø IBM`s deep blue system is an example of reactive machine.
2. Limited memory:
Ø Limited memory is one of the most stable and frequently seen types of artificial intelligence.
Ø Limited memory machines can store past data for a short period of time.
Ø These machines can make and improve decisions by studying the data stored in its memory.
Ø Self-driving cars is the best example of limited memory, because these cars use the data which was recorded from the recent past to make a proper inference. This helps in preventing future accidents.
3. Theory of mind:

Ø The Theory of mind AI is an advanced type of artificial intelligence.
Ø These machines are surmised to play a major role in psychology.
Ø These machines would have the ability not just to grasp but express emotions as well.
Ø These machines did not come in existence yet, but meticulous research is being happening in this field too.
4. Self-awareness:
Ø This is a stage of artificial intelligence which can be basically called the future of artificial intelligence.
Ø In this stage, machines will be super intelligent and will have their own emotions, sentiments and will be very much self-aware.
Ø Self-awareness AI does not exist in reality, but still it is a hypothetical concept.
